Great effort was placed into preserving the wild bark and stiffening the form. This species is known for its fragile nature, highly textured bark, and thirsty grain.

Such grain was a perfect candidate for high levels of tannin-enriching and fuming, which turned the naturally subtle cream colouration into a deep chocolate, exposing the chatoyancy within and offering a distinct contrast to the blue epoxy accents.
