Due to spalting, this Black Cherry knot burl, which formed from a healed branch, exposes several layers of the tree’s structure along its irregular perimeter. Dark bark gives way to areas of weathered cambium, then reddish heartwood.

The interior cavity follows the knot’s natural opening. Small turquoise inclusions occupy portions of the void, introducing a concentrated blue accent against the warmer wood, allowing the turquoise to emerge as a secondary element.
