THE STORY

A Red Maple healed branch knot whose pointed profile, converging grain, and continuous bark plates give the finished form the unmistakable character of an arrowhead.

Spot-fumed for bands of contrasting darkness through the bark, angled edge, broad surface and inner void. A submerged brass inlay placed into this void follows the existing structure of the piece, reinforcing the impression of something sharpened, forged and weapon-like.
