A Red Maple healed branch knot preserved in its original form and finished by hand. The surrounding grain and irregular growth are left intentionally visible, with a subtle purple epoxy inlay accentuating the natural void.

The healing that this knot underwent created extraordinary chatoyancy. These bright, natural streaks create a vibrant contrast with the darker cross-directional grain after some heavy fuming to make the colours distinct.
